Giveaway : This is How I Store My Cloth Diapers (I WANT TO WIN JOLI DIAPERS!)

Cloth Diaper Malaysia is having a giveaway again. This time round it's the JOLI Diapers which is sponsored by Lovely Goody.

Let me share here on how I store or organize TY's diaper stash here. Hmm.. Let's see. I think I do store or keep the cloth diapers almost anywhere or everywhere that I could think of. To be more specific, it's places where there is possibility that I might need to do diaper change. Well, I got to admit am a lazy mama to begin with.

1. Laundry area

I have a laundry basket where I keep those cloth diapers that is washed and cleaned but yet to go through the "stuffing" process (for pocket diaper) or the soaker snapping process for other diapers. This laundry basket is usually placed at downstair at home near the laundry area which is not too far away from the dining room as well. In any chance when I need to do diaper change but is lazy to go to my room upstair to get the diaper, then I'll just simply "searched" for the needed diaper here.

2. My Parent's House
Up next, I do store some of TY diapers at my parent's home too. My mum look after TY when am at work. So obviously I'll need to bring some diapers over to my parent place as well so that they can do the diaper change. For that, I'll store the diapers in a waterproof bag which is used to be my swim bag. I have 2 of such bag which I use alternatively. Each time I'll send 1 of the bag over to my parent place and leave it there.

The bag will be at my parent's house for the next 2- 3 days.  After that I'll bring over the 2nd bag to interchange with the first bag. This is sort of to "replenish" the cloth diapers "stock" at my parent's place.



3. My Car
Since TY is a "frequent traveller" in my car, I do store some cloth diapers in my car as well. As I mentioned earlier, am a lazy mama. It'll be quite hassle for me to remind myself to bring some cloth diapers in every outing. Sometime it is an ad-hoc decision that I decided to go for an outing with TY. That is why I always keep some cloth diapers in wet bag in my car.

For this, am loving the wet bag that comes with 2 compartment where I can store the clean cloth diaper in the dry section and the soiled diapers in the wet section. Save me the need of having 2 wet bag. Plus the wet/dry bag comes with a handle that I can easily hang it to the chair.

4. Living Room
I usually watch movie in the living room (like everyone do). There is a few occasion when it come to the most exciting heart throbing part of the movie, TY suddenly want me to change her diaper. This is so "turn off" that I got to run and rush to my room upstairs to get the diaper to do the diaper change before I can continue to enjoy the movie. Since then I decided to store some diaper in the living room as well!!!

I usually store about 2 to 3 pcs of diaper in one of the side table drawer to keep the diapers out of sight so that the living room will look less messy especially if there is guest who came to visit unexpectedly.

5. Storage Room
I do have a different storage for those brand new unused cloth diapers which I will store in the storage room. These include those brand new cloth diaper that I want to sell off since TY's diaper stash is too large. Some of it is those that I bought intended for next baby though am not sure myself when the next baby will be here. :P

I store these in a semi transparent storage box with cover so that I can tell what is the content of the box even without opening the box since I have a few storage box in the storage room. As am not going to use these diapers on TY, I keep the box covered at all time to keep it out from dust and dirts.

6. In My Room

TY is sleeping with me in our room. I do store some of the diapers next to her convertible cot using a diaper stacker which is tied to her cot. These diaper is store convenient next to her cot so that it is within my hand grasp. This is important to me especially when TY being cranky or when my laziness got hold of me. Hahaha... When my laziness hit me at peak, even 2 steps walk to get the diaper might feel like it's a 2 miles walk. :P

Finally, the wardrobe is where I store the majority of TY diapers collection. I make use of the existing built-in wardrobe that I have in my room to store TY's diaper stash. Initially I use only one compartment shelves. But as TY's diaper stash grow, it is occupying more and more shelves now.

The top shelve is the diapers that I'll hardly reached out for. Those is usually the diapers that TY have already outgrown but yet I still want to hoard over it. Probably will be keeping it for next baby.

The second shelve from top is where all the other diapering accessories like the additional insert and soaker, booster, prefold, liners and even flats (aka traditional lampin) is located. This is also where usually I put the EMAB bottom balm.

The third shelve is the diapers that I reached out most as this shelve is just at the right level where I can have a full view of the diapers without bending my knee, etc.  

The diapers on the left on this shelves is usually the diapers I use mostly for daytime only. The middle column is diapers that have narrower crotch and is trim enough to be wear under the clothes. Basically these is the diaper that I like to use for outing. Those on the right comprise mostly of fitted for night use. As TY is a heavywetter, am swear by fitted diaper for night diapering.

Lastly, the diapers on the 4th shelve is those diapers in preparation to replenish those in 3rd shelves after those in the 3rd shelve is used. This is also where I keep all the diapers cover like those PUL cover, fleece cover and soaker, as well as the woolies like wool longies and shorties.


And do you know that it is also for my eye candies to keep the diapers in the wardrobe in such a way. I can get a full view of the colorful diaper stash simply by slide open the wardrobe and sometime it does help to de-stress myself too when am looking at those.. :P
 

And well, that's how I store/ organize TY's cloth diapers stash. Am just praying hard that I can win for the grand prize of this giveaway as the prize looks really promising for use on heavy wetter which exactly what I need for TY.

Honestly, I don't really what or how should I write for this giveaway. Well, luckily the organizer of this giveaway did gave some guideline for it. We got to answer the following question...

Are Am A User Of Any Eco-Friendly Product?
Ok. I'll admit it here. I think am NOT an eco-friendly products user. But wait.. Is cloth diaper considered eco-friendly? If yes, then am a eco-friendly product user, isn't it...? :P

Anyway, let's get serious here. Let me explain why am not an eco-friendly product user (yet) especially for household products.

1. Cost

I have always thought that eco-friendly product will cost more (which is quite true) as compare to the other commercially available household products. Commercially available household products (aka not eco-friendly products) usually comes with a cheaper price tag. Well, who doesn't prefer something that is cheaper?

Especially when our money don't grow on the tree....

We will try to save every single cents for future use or to locate the amount we save for other commitments that we have.

2. Availability of the product

There isn't much eco-friendly products available in Malaysia as oppose to the commercially available product. Plus it seems that these eco-friendly product is available only at some selected places only and it is not as widely available like those commercial product that is not eco-friendly.

I personally tends to buy something that we can get easily from shopping mall or hypermarket caused it's just convenient for me. I can just do my shopping in one of the shopping mall and then simply grab one or two of those products that is not eco-friendly on the go from the convenient store or hypermarket.

But I have to admit also if given the choice, I would prefer to do online shopping from the comfort of my home too.

But then again when the shipping cost is added to the purchase, it will make the product cost even much high and make me think twice whether it worth the price. If discounted shipping or free shipping is offered then it will be different altogether.

3. Effectiveness of the eco-friendly product

Ok. Blame it to those commercially available product advertisement on this. I tends to think that those commercially available product like the toilet cleaner is able to clean the toilet better than eco-friendly products. Probably I watch too many of those commercially available products advertisement. There is tonnes of those advertisement even if I don't want to watch it. Those advertisement will highlights on how great or effective is a particular product in doing it work. Me as a consumer in some way or another will have some doubt and will then buy the product in the pretext to test it but in the end will continue using it. 

Plus, most of the time when I think of eco-friendly household products, unconsciously I'll associate it as a product that use less chemical, thus less harsh and therefore unable to clean or work well. Hmm, honestly I don't know why I have such thought or mindset. 

THEN WHY DO I STILL WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS GIVEAWAY?

1. It's free to enter with chances to win great prizes

This is really straight forward. It's free!! Who doesn't like freebie? It wouldn't do any harm to myself or anybody else if I participate in this giveaways anyway. :P

Plus the prizes offered quite attractive especially for the grand prize. At the very least the prizes for this giveaway is from the Seventh Generation. It's not some cheapo company product that I believe some of us come across before.

2. Self Awareness

I do aware on the condition of the Earth today. In fact, it just hit to me naturally that we should protect the Earth. BUT I don't think I have done anything for it. At least not before my daughter is born.

After I gave birth to my daughter, I became more and more concern with the planet we are living right now, the Earth. I started to think on the consequence if I were to continue to use those disposable diaper that take ages to breakdown and disappear in the landfill. I feel horrified when I do the calculation only to know that there will be so many disposable that will be end up in the landfill. I hope to reduce my "contributions" to the landfill. That is why I started to cloth diapering my daughter.

Plus I didn't know that the commercially available household product that I use to clean the house is actually so toxic and harmful not only to the environment but also to our health. I only get to know about it not too long ago after I read THIS.

In a way or another, we'll pollute the environment with some kind of chemical whether we like it or not. But after I read up that article it actually make me think that I should do something about it as I do not wish to pollute the Earth with so much and different kind of chemicals. I just wanted to have a safe place for living for the next and future generations.

So I know I won't be able to eliminate it but I do hope that I can reduce it. That is why trying my luck to win in this giveaways so that I can use the eco-friendly products and helps in "hurting" the Earth any further. I do want to do my part in protecting the Earth so that my children and the generation to come can continue living in this planet.

3. Prove Me Wrong !!!

As I have mentioned earlier, eco-friendly product gave me an impression that it can't work or clean as effective as those commercially available household product that is not eco-friendly. I believe I might not the only one who have such mindset or perception. So, let me win this giveaway so that I can try on the product myself to see if it's really as good or even better than those commercial products. Let's prove am wrong and change my thought!!

My Suggestion

Hmm.. This is not part of the giveaway requirement. After I done some read up online, most commented that eco-friendly product is good. Hmm, if that is the case then may I suggest to all the eco-friendly product seller to offer some good discount every now and then? With a good discount it'll encourage others to buy the eco-friendly products. Who knows that these people might turn to be a eco-friendly user later, right?

Ok. With that said I do hope I'll be able to win in this giveaway... :P

I Won In the BambooLite CM-TrueFit Photo Contest 2010!!!

Hurray!!! I can't believe it that I have won the grand prize in the BambooLite CM-TrueFit Photo Contest. Really glad that BambooLite have chosen TY's photo as the Best Photo. Help!!! Am still spending on diapers..

TY is already 21 month old now and yet am still spending more money on diaper. Oh gosh!! Wondering when I'll be able to stop shopping for diapers. Please help me get out of this addictions!!! Sob... Sob...

Previously I have participated in the BambooLite Giveaways but I didn't manage to win anything from the giveaway. But the giveaways did not ends there. Bamboolite have offered some discount voucher for all those who participated but did not win anything from the giveaways (like me, Lols..). What BambooLite offered to people like me is a 20% discount for all it's product except for the fabric. For fabric, there is 10% discount on it.

And well, it's quite a good discount that am unable to resist it in the end. Hahaha... I have just place some order yesterday on a few pcs of the new fleece cover (which is BambooLite new product), some raw silk liner, the foldover insert, booster and not to miss, the diaper as well. 

Ohh, I place order for some bamboo fleece too. Wanted to make some bamboo booster myself as TY is quite a heavy wetter. All in all, I spent a few hundreds ringgit on diaper related stuff again...

Anyway, I just couldn't wait to receive my package now. Hahaha... I just received an email earlier with tracking number that my order is sent out by Poslaju today. I'll only be able to "meet up" with my package next week though as am at my parent place this week.

Contest : Gin & Jacqie MBP 2010 Contest

Ever since I have started to be a blogger again, I just realized that there is just so many giveaways and contest around that I don't even have time to participate in it.


And well, as the title of this blog post suggested, here is another contest. This time it's organize by Mom Bloggers Planet with the gifts sponsored by Gin & Jacqie.

For this contest we are suppose to name two bag that we really love and want from Gin & Jacqie. After I browse through the online store, I have found the bag that I love.

I have fall in love almost instantly with Runaway Julia especially the red colour bag. The red color is really bright and contrast which make the bag stand out compared to the rest of the color available. But alas, it's sold out.


This bag featured a fold over clasp to close the bag and this have some how make the bag look trendier. Who doesn't like to look trendy?


I don't quite like bag with many compartment as usually those compartment is kind of small to "stuffed" in my stuff. And too many compartment also make myself confused as I might not remember which compartment I have keep a particular thing in. So, in the end I might have to open and check all the compartment before am able to find the things that I want.


That is why I think it will be great if I have this bag. The bag looks really spacious without many small compartment like some other bag do. Good and easy for me to "load" all my stuff into the bag. Am a person who is on the move most of the time and that's why I'll need a big and spacious bag where I can at least put my drinking water bottle and also some documents as I travel and well as my wallet, of course. One big spacious compartment make it easier for me to look for the document that I want too. This bag have what am looking for.


The bag looks very spacious, that I can some what use it as a baby bag too without it being look like one if you get what I mean. Well, except that this bag doesn't comes with the changing pad though. But even so, it's still big enough for me to carry my daughter milk bottle, wet tissue and all her diaper change need when we are out for a short shopping trip.I really hate it now that I have to carry at least 2 bags each time we are out with my daughter. 


SLEEK JOANNE

This contest came just in time and a laptop bag is what am looking right now. Hubby have just bought a laptop for me. But it doesn't comes with a laptop bag. I have been very busy with my work that I do not have the time to shop for the laptop bag.


Anyway, shopping for a laptop bag have not been in my "must do" list as most if not all the laptop bag available in the market is either plain in black color or the overall bag is big and bulky which I really hate. It's like apart from the weight of the laptop, I have to carry the heavy weight of the bag as well. Double the weight that I have to carry!!!


I need a laptop bag badly to protect the laptop that is given by my hubby. I badly need a bag to carry the laptop around now!!! I don't have a laptop bag right now and I just usually carry the laptop with my hand coverless and the power cord all in my handbag. Sounds funny. But that is what I really did now.


What I love about Sleek Joanne is the bag looks really "sleek" as what the name have suggested. It's lightweight and what more is it comes with my favourite polka dot design. I have to admit that I love almost everything that comes in polka dot prints. 


The polka dot print looks so yummy and make the laptop bag different from those laptop that we can easily get from computer store.


WHY MOMS SHOULD GET A BAG FROM GIN  & JACQIE
If you ask me why moms should get a bag from Gin & Jacqie, it's because Gin & Jacqie have an online store where we can buy from the comfort of our home. Most moms is a busy mom especially those who are a new mother and is a full time working mom. They'll hardly have extra time as most of the time is spent taking care of their young ones.

What I Like About BambooLite : I like the leg elastic as we can easily adjust it to fit the child whether the baby is skinny or have a chubby thigh.

Hooray!!! I Won A Free Diaper!!!

Ok. I have said it in my post tittle and yes, I WON A FREE DIAPER!!! Hehehe...

I just received an email today from LampinKain and I just couldn't believe that I have won a free cloth diaper from the recent LampinKain giveaway that I have participate about a week ago. On top of that, I actually won the first place in the giveaway which means am entitle to get a free LampinKain in-stock One Size PRINTED pocket diaper. This is really a great news before I go for a short holiday tommorrow.

One of the friend that I know from the DiapersAsia Forum, Hanizawati Jamaludin whom is casually known as Hanz actually won the second place in the giveaway. Hanz congrats to you too!!! Am better off from you simply by 1 entry point to grab the first place. Hehehe...

I have just wrote that I missed many giveaway in the past in my first post. Well, here it comes again. Another cloth diaper giveaway!!! This time round it's by LampinKain. Another proudly Malaysian made cloth diaper brand.

LampinKain have this giveaway in conjunction with it's 2 years anniversary. The giveaway start on 1st August 2010 and it is suppose to end on 15th August 2010. BUT, am quite lucky that it's extended to 25th August 2010 now. Otherwise, I would have missed yet another giveaway.
