My Winning Prize From The BambooLite Photo Contest Is HERE!!!

Remember that I blogged about my winning in the BambooLite CM-TrueFit Photo Contest HERE? After some correspondence and emailing BambooLite finally I received the winning prize. Hehehe..

I have chosen the BambooLite fitted diaper in purple colour with velcro closure. Hehehe... You might be wondering why am taking the velcro closure diaper. Well, it's simple because I have too many of snap diaper and wanted to have some change this time round.

The purple color is really nice. As shown in the BambooLite website. I really love the color. Really glad that hubby is agreed on my choice of colour on this fitted diaper.

Anyway, am feeling guilty as well. I bought more diaper again from BambooLite... I have bought another PUL Extra in blue colour and also the hybrid insert in conjunction with their anniversary sales...

Comparison : BambooLite Printed Fleece Cover VS CM-TrueFit PUL Extra

From one of the forum that I joined, there is some who actually interested to get the BambooLite printed fleece cover to use with the BambooLite foldover insert as it is a cheaper option as compared to the BambooLite CM-TrueFit PUL Extra which already comes with the foldover insert.

I'll not advocate which option is better as it is all boil down to your personal preference. What I wrote here is just some different between the printed fleece cover (when use with the foldover insert) and also the PUL Extra.

1. Cost

Price shown below is retail price and exclude discount if any.

• Printed Fleece Cover (Limited Edition prints) + foldover insert - RM 63.00
• Printed Fleece Cover (not LE prints) + foldover insert - RM 61.00
• PUL Extra (already comes with foldover insert) - RM 66.00

2. Water-proofing and breathability

• Printed Fleece Cover
• It is water resistant but not waterproof.
• It is water resistant only when it is wash correctly.
• Diaper fleece cover should be wash with the usual laundry with fabric softener and not with the diapers laundry.
• There is still possibility that it'll leak since it is not waterproof.
• But this usually happen only if the fitted diaper or the soaker is very soiled to the extend it can't hold any wetness anymore.
• PUL Extra
• As the name implies, it have a layer of PUL which is waterproof.
• It reduced the possibility of leakage when it is wear correctly and fit well with baby.
• Not as breathable as the fleece cover so baby bum might feel warm/ hot.

3. Prints/ Colours

• Printed Fleece Cover
• Comes only in prints.
• There are 5 prints available.
• PUL Extra 
• Comes only in solid colours.
• There are 10 colours to choose from.

4. Closure

• Printed Fleece Cover
• Only comes with snap closure.
• Side snapping.
• PUL Extra 
• Can choose between snap or velcro closure.
• Front snapping/ velcro with overlapping snap/ velcro.
• Velcro closure will be more caretaker/ babysitter friendly as compared to snap closure.

5. Style

• Printed Fleece Cover
• As diaper cover when use without the insert - can use the same cover for a few time before wash
• As AI2 when use with the insert. Simply lay on the insert to the cover.
• PUL Extra
• As pocket diaper - there is a pocket opening to stuff the insert.
• As diaper cover when use without the insert - but still need to change in each diaper change since the inner is made of absorbent layer or else it might stinks if continue to use it with other fitted diaper as cover.
• As AIO - can lay on the insert instead of stuff into the pocket and there is snap to hold the insert.
• Note : Though it can be use like AI2, I put it here only as AIO as the inner is made of absorbent layer.

6. Bulkiness

Both is almost the same but the Printed Fleece Cover might be slighly bulkier than the PUL Extra by a bit as it is more "fluffy".

7. Total Absorbency Layers

(After the foldover insert is fold to half)

• Printed Fleece Cover - 6 layers (All from the foldover insert)
• PUL Extra - 7 layers (6 layers from the foldover insert, 1 layer from the diaper inner)

8. Size

• Printed Fleece Cover
• Comes in 2 sizes - Size 1 and Size 2 (Might have to buy 2 pcs of the different size to last till potty trained)
• General sizing guide :-
• Size 1 fit baby from 3 - 12kg,
• Size 2 fit baby from 5 - 18kg
• Not able to adjust the leg opening
• PUL Extra
• Comes as One Size to fit from 3 - 18kg
• Able to adjust the leg opening

Review : BambooLite Printed Fleece Diaper Cover

BambooLite have launched some products not too long ago. This includes the new printed fleece cover. This is just a quick review as I don't think I have use it long enough to actually do a proper review on this.

Style

BambooLite fleece diaper cover is a side snapping diaper cover that comes in 2 sizes (Size 1 and Size 2).

Information that I got from the BambooLite website, it says that it is made from anti-pill fleece. Size 1 is said better suit petite baby (3 - 12kg), while Size 2 fit chunky baby (5 - 18 kg).

It have a turned and topstiched finishing on the leg casing and serged finishing on the front, wing tab as well as on back. It is a fleece diaper cover that can be use as All-in-Two (AI2) diaper when you lay on a soaker (not provided).

Currently, BambooLite printed fleece cover comes in 5 different prints with 2 of it is the limited edition print.

My Verdict (After around 1 - 3 times of usage)

1. Price & Availability

• The diaper cover is retailing for RM 37 for the limited edition print while the rest is retailing for RM 35.
• You can get the diaper cover as cheap as RM 28 with the BambooLite current anniversary sales which is offering this at 20% discount.
• To me, it is not an expensive diaper cover but I would not say it's very cheap either.
• I bought this diaper cover directly from BambooLite but I think you can get it from most of it's retailer.

2. Fitting

• According to BambooLite sizing guide, Size 1 will fit baby from 3 - 12kg. 
• My daughter is about 12+ or 13kg right now and she still fit well on the largest setting of Size 1.
• I have not try the Size 2 on her yet as Size 2 looks really generous sizing.
• I tried to use this as AI2 (with the BambooLite foldover soaker) and it works well without leaking.
• When I use it as diaper cover over a fitted diaper, it can't cover the whole fitted diaper as I still can see there is some part of the fitted diaper is "exposed".
• But I think it is because the fitted is bulky and I should have use Size 2 fleece cover instead of size 1.
• Actually there isn't much different for the crotch width between Size 1 and Size 2.
• It might differ by about 1 cm or so (I didn't measure it with ruler. Only roughly estimate it from what I see)
• But there is huge different on the rise between both by at least 2 inches.

3. Absorbency

• Since this is a fleece diaper cover, it does not offer any absorbency.
• As for the absorbency when you use it as AI2, it is solely depends on what is the type of soaker that you use.
• Please also note that when you intend to use this as AI2, you can only lay the soaker and not snap the soaker to the fleece cover as there is not snap to hold the soaker.
• The BambooLite's hybrid insert or the foldover insert can lay on to the inner of this diaper cover well.
• There is minimal movement of the insert/ soaker as the inner have the lighweight windpro fleece where you can actually stuff both end of the insert/ soaker to keep it in place.

4. Colours/ Prints

• As what I have mentioned earlier, currently BambooLite is offering 5 different prints for this fleece cover.
• Leaf, Lamb and Wild is the normal prints
• Dot and Orange is the limited edition prints.
• It'll looks great for those who fancy printed over plain color fleece diaper.
• I personally love the Dot limited edition prints. Don't really fancy the other limited edition print though.

5. Overviews

• Personally, I like this diaper cover.
• The fleece diaper is water resistant (but not waterproof) when you wash it correctly and yet it's breathable which is why I like it. 
• The side snapping design actually really helps to reduce the wing drop problem.
• Side snapping diaper have reduced if not eliminate the wing drop problem as compared to front snapping diaper. (This applied to all other diaper and not to this cover only)

• The idea to have turned and topstiched finishing on the leg casing and not to the whole diaper cover have actually helps to reduce the bulkiness on those diaper cover.
• Please not that, it is not actually really "that" bulky as compared to the BambooLite PUL diaper shell.
• It's just slightly bulky and you may not or hardly notice the different unless you really do the comparison between both side by side.
• But there is also something that I don't quite like about this cover too.
• This fleece cover have a hidden serged back elastic.
• From the way it is serged, it should have not rub against the skin but yet it rubbed against my daughter back leaving some red back on her back.

Hurray!!! I can't believe it that I have won the grand prize in the BambooLite CM-TrueFit Photo Contest. Really glad that BambooLite have chosen TY's photo as the Best Photo. The grand prize for this contest is the BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted Premium diaper which worth RM 80. Hehehe... This mean that TY will get another new diaper and her diaper .

Actually I have know of the winning last friday from the Cloth Diaper Malaysia website but didn't manage to blog about it as TY is down with fever. Thanks goodness she is all well now. You may view my winning photo entry HERE. 

I have decided to get the fitted diaper in purple color with velcro closure this time round since I don't have much diaper with velcro. Hopefully the color is as good as shown in the picture.

Arrival Of Packages From BambooLite And Also The Preloved Monkeez

What is better than having to receive packages from your shopping spree? I just couldn't be any happier when I saw packages awaiting for me to open when I got home the other day after nearly a week away from home. These package is from my recent personal shopping spree that I have blogged about earlier as well as the preloved diaper that I bought from a lovely mama in the forum. Honestly, these package have really brighten up my dull looking days... Hehehe... All the package is sent to me by poslaju. Meaning it's already here few days ago. Arghh... How I miss the feeling for getting packages delivered to me.

My personal shopping spree from BambooLite came in 2 seperately package. One of it is packed only with bamboo fleece that I ordered. The other package containing the rest of the items that I bought. I have bought more of the foldover insert as I personally find it is really absorbent. Thought of using it with my old BambooLite cover since the insert is interchangable for use. I bought the BambooLite new product too, the fleece diaper cover. Before I got the package, I was told by another mama whom I know from a forum that the BambooLite fleece cover size 2 is rather generous in sizing. I couldn't agreed more with her. At largest setting, it is really huge!!! Thanks godness that I bought more of size 1 instead of size 2. Am so anxiously to try out the fleece diaper cover on TY almost immediately after I open it up - which I did after I took a photo of it. TY still fit on the size 1 fleece cover at largest setting. I would say it's really true to the size stated in BambooLite website.

Next is the Monkeez Nite-Nites fitted diaper and also Monkeez AIO in Wild Paisley print. Initially I have wanted to get the only the night fitted solely just to try it out on TY. Not so keen on the Monkeez AIO as I already have one. Plus this is in girly print whilst I prefer a more gender neutral diaper. But then since that mama left only these two pieces for sale, I just grab it. Easier for me to close her that selling thread... :p

have the Monkeez AIO in a different prints in TY cloth diaper stash.
Reason? Because this is in a girly print and TY hardly have those in her diaper stash... :p

Help!!! Am still spending on diapers..

TY is already 21 month old now and yet am still spending more money on diaper. Oh gosh!! Wondering when I'll be able to stop shopping for diapers. Please help me get out of this addictions!!! Sob... Sob...

Previously I have participated in the BambooLite Giveaways but I didn't manage to win anything from the giveaway. But the giveaways did not ends there. Bamboolite have offered some discount voucher for all those who participated but did not win anything from the giveaways (like me, Lols..). What BambooLite offered to people like me is a 20% discount for all it's product except for the fabric. For fabric, there is 10% discount on it.

And well, it's quite a good discount that am unable to resist it in the end. Hahaha... I have just place some order yesterday on a few pcs of the new fleece cover (which is BambooLite new product), some raw silk liner, the foldover insert, booster and not to miss, the diaper as well. 

Ohh, I place order for some bamboo fleece too. Wanted to make some bamboo booster myself as TY is quite a heavy wetter. All in all, I spent a few hundreds ringgit on diaper related stuff again...

Anyway, I just couldn't wait to receive my package now. Hahaha... I just received an email earlier with tracking number that my order is sent out by Poslaju today. I'll only be able to "meet up" with my package next week though as am at my parent place this week.

Review : BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted PREMIUM

When am writing this, there isn’t many local brand fitted diaper available in the market here in Malaysia. I bought most of my fitted diaper from overseas namely from US, UK and Australia. BambooLite is one of the few local brands that make fitted diaper. For this review, what I have is the snap version of BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted PREMIUM.

Style
This is a One Size pocket fitted and there is 2 type of BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted – LITE and PREMIUM. Generally both are the same except for the insert/ soaker.

BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted LITE comes with the hybrid insert, which are 3 layers of microfiber topped with 1 layer of bamboo velour.

BambooLite CM-TrueFit Fitted PREMIUM on the other hand comes with a bamboo foldover insert (2 layers of bamboo fleece topped with 1 layer of bamboo velour) with a 2 layers bamboo booster. The foldover insert is measuring approximately 76cm x 13cm when it's still new and unwashed.

You’ll have an option to choose on the diaper closure. You may choose between snap and velcro. In the event for diaper with snap closure, there is overlapping snap for the waist. So, I suppose it can fit newborn as well.

Again, there is no printed outer for this fitted. Only solid colours are available. We may choose from the 10 colours that currently available including yellow, blue, red, lavender, ivory, pink, turquoise, lime, chocolate and purple.

Unlike the predecessor diaper by BambooLite, it no longer have the rise snap to adjust the diaper rise and size. It’s now have the adjustable leg elastic with the bra like strap adjustment.

On the other hand, this fitted diaper have a pocket opening at the inner front of the diaper and there’s a snap to hold the insert just like previous version of BambooLite diaper.

I think this is BambooLite signature style to make it’s diaper appear to have All-in-Two (AI2) style. But no. You cannot use BambooLite as AI2 even with it’s PUL diaper. This is because the inner layer is not a wicking fabric like fleece, suedecloth or those athletic wicking fabric. It’s made of absorbent layer. Thus it’s better suit to be label as All-In-One (AIO) than AI2 in this case if it is diaper with waterproof layer like PUL.

My Verdict (After 2 months of usage)
1. Price & Availability

• I personally think it’s reasonable price at RM 80 for this fitted. Can get even cheaper if purchase in a bulk in a group buy.
• We can easily buy it online from BambooLite reseller. The list of BambooLite can be view from here :- BambooLite Retailers

2. Fiting

• With the bra-like strap adjustable leg elastic, my daughter can fit well with the diaper.
• No incident of leaking thus far and there's no red mark on her thigh as well.
• I think most baby can have a good fit on this diaper especially on the thigh as you may adjust it as accords to the baby thigh even if one of the thigh is chunkier than the other thigh.
• The diaper looks quite trim too considering it have 10 layers and most of the layer is made of heavy bamboo.
• Crotch area of the diaper seems rather wide. But it’s not really an issue when I wear it on my daughter as it is not too stiff that my daughter have to walk with “kaki kangkang”.

3. Absorbency

• The foldover insert that comes with it are very absorbent.
• After fully prep washed it, it’s slightly a bit stiffer as compared to when it is still new. But this is the nature of bamboo fabric.
• Fitted diaper will requires cover for waterproof and I think babies can go coverless wearing this fitted diaper with the booster if the baby is a small or medium wetter.
• It's a good night fitted for heavy wetter too.
• Please note that since the insert is made of bamboo, it'll need to be prep wash for around 6 - 8 times before it can reach maximum absorbency.

4. Colours/ Printed

• Like what I have listed above, currently there is only available in 10 solid colour dyed.
• With only solid colours to choose from, it might actually defers some to try on this diaper especially for those who prefer printed diaper.
• Of all the colours, I like blue, chocolate and lime the most.

5. Overview

• The outer of the diaper is made of colour dyed bamboo outer and the inner is natural color bamboo velour. The diaper feel so soft and nice.
• Personally I like how this diaper is constructed as it allow the diaper to have shorter drying time.
• My past experience with BambooLite PUL diaper, BambooLite use bamboo fleece as the inner but now it use bamboo velour for the inner.
• Bamboo velour make the diaper feels luxurious when touch. But sometime the velour feels rough to touch also especially after washed.
• Please note that other diaper with velour (not BambooLite) also the same. I guess it's the nature of the bamboo velour? Or is this due to the detergent that I use to wash the diaper?
• I read from BambooLite tips that we can actually soften the velour a bit after wash by rubbing the velour together I tried this tips before but it don't always work on my diaper.
• For the first few wash, I would recommend to wash the diaper seperately from the rest to avoid possibility that the colour bleeds to other diaper since the diaper outer is colour dyed.
• The foldover insert have a very good absorbency as it's made of heavy bamboo that meets Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 requirements.
• But it it might take a long time to dry also especially during raining season.
• I like the way how we can adjust the leg elastic for this diaper but I find it rather hard to understand on how it works if there isn't any instruction attached to it.
• Now what am wondering is how long can the elastic last before it started to loose it elasticity.

Review : BambooLite PUL Pocket Diaper (Older Version)

BambooLite PUL pocket diaper - Orange color

I have bought the older version of BambooLite PUL pocket diaper early this year. This is the first pocket diaper that I have that comes with bamboo fleece inner as oppose to most pocket diaper that have fleece or suedecloth for inner. The diaper PUL is very soft and stretchy.


Style

BambooLite PUL pocket diaper is only available in One Size (OS) with snap closure. There is no overlapping snap closure for this diaper (same as with diaper like Coolababy). But there is hip snap to avoid wing drop problem when this diaper is being use at smaller waist setting.


The BambooLit PUL diaper can be adjusted to size S, M, L with the rise snap in front of the diaper. The diaper is available in only 5 solid colour to choose from (azure green, orange, lemon yellow, pale blue and white).


It is sold with a One Size (OS) insert. The insert is made of 3 layers of microfiber and topped with a layer of bamboo which making is more absorbent. There's snap on the diaper to adjust the size of the insert.


The diaper have a bamboo fleece inner which is an absorbent layer itself. So when use with the insert that comes with it, you actually get a total of 5 layers absorbent layers.


Most pocket diaper that is available in the market have the pocket opening at the inner back of the diaper. But for BambooLite, the pocket opening is placed at the at the inner front of the diaper. 


It have the All-in-Two (AI2) diaper style where we can just snap the insert to the diaper without stuffing the insert into the pocket opening.

My Verdict (After 6 months of usage)

1. Price & Availability

• The diaper is reasonable price.
• You can easily buy BambooLite from quite a number of local online store. Only problem for getting from online store is we can't touch or grasp a feel of it before we purchase.

2. Fitting

• This diaper fit well on my daughter. Have been using it since she is about 13 months old.
• The sizing is quite standard as compared with cloth diaper like coolababy.
• Because it is an OS cloth diaper, it may look bulky on newbown.
• The diaper is quite trim. No big bum when my daughter wear it.
• Occasionally I do get red mark on her thigh. Probably due to her chunky thigh.
• There is 2 row of snap at each of the diaper wing tab so, you can actually adjust the snap a bit to fit the thigh.

3. Absorbency

• The insert that comes with it is absorbent. Though it is absorbent, it cannot last more than 2 hours for my heavy wetter daughter. 
• As she grow older, I have to add a 3 layers microfiber insert to use with the existing insert for it to last for 2 - 2.5 hours.

4. Overview

• I personally like the bamboo fleece inner. It's still remains soft after many wash.
• But then again, sometime I feel the bamboo fleece inner is a bit coarse to touch also.
• For baby who have sensitive skin, diaper with bamboo fleece inner is way to go as it have the natural anti-bacterial properties.
• The diaper have a hip snap to prevent wing drop problem when the diaper is use at the smaller waist setting.
• But I find the hip snap is rather annoying if you are using it at a bigger waist setting as the hip snap will touch the baby skin and thus leave a mark there (unless you cover it with snap cover though)

That white color snap on the diaper is the hip snap.

I have a love-hate relationship with the hip snap.

• Overall the diaper soft and stretchy. At some point, I do hate the stretchiness as I wonder will the stretchiness caused the PUL to tear.
• Plus, sometime I find it difficult to unsnapped the snap due to the stretchiness also. I feel as if the snap get pull when I unsnapped. It make me worry that I might pull the snap off one day.
• For someone like me who prefer to get printed cloth diaper, the choice of colours that available for this BambooLite PUL diaper is quite a turn off as it's only available in limited choice of solid colour and there's no printed one at all.

• It would be good if the deodorizer comes with nice scent. For some reason am quite sick with the smell of those diaper waiting for the laundry day. It's just too stinks!!!
